5: Programming is no longer fun

I feel like this is both true and not true for me. I like solving problems, and I also like seeing the results (such as the working software). AI development tools can often help you reach the goal of having working software faster than without it, and I do like that aspect of it. Also, AI development tools can be used to help with tedious work, such as fixing build issues (which I think is a good thing) and to examine the project for very difficult problems that you may be struggling with - The AI could end up finding the needle in the haystack or whatever is causing a difficult issue you're facing.

i would never use AI for my actual code. if i do that, the fun part for me is gone entirely. you can use it to explain functions, documentation, etc, but the second it starts spitting out code i'm out. i'd also be ashamed to tell people a project of mine uses AI code. it's a bit like art to me in that regard. i'm not going to generate a watercolor of spider man and hang it on my wall and be proud of it. some people experience great joy finishing a paint by numbers piece, but i wouldn't.

i understand that some people don't have a choice. they're getting paid to produce and when the boss man screams Mush! .. off they go. i can only hope that the people who truly enjoyed programming have long since migrated to leadership positions instead. because whatever they might miss from their days as a lowly code monkey is long gone.
